Harry Potter Land Coming To Universal Studios Hollywood?!?

h1 Wednesday, November 30th, 2011

UPDATED this is confirmed.

Check out this awesome post on the LA Times.  I hope this happens then it’s time to don that house scarf and get some butterbeer! I do find it funny that the article mentions the still strange idea of James Cameron and Disney doing a Avatar themed section in Orlando. Mostly because as a movie it was rather bland. It will be interesting to see what Disney, Knott’s and other local parks will do to compete. Anyways here is the article.

Santaland - Solo Exhibition by Molly Schulps - Saturday, December 10, 2011 - Bunny Gunner Gallery - Pomona

h1 Monday, November 28th, 2011

Solo exhibition by Molly Schulps. Please join us for the fun!! Inappropriate Santa will be making an appearance with his elves around 7pm.

Santaland is a body of work that strives to evoke a sense of nostalgia and familial sensibilities. Most of us have grown up with a sense of tradition, which our families have created for us utilizing iconic references to familiar imagery. All of the figures in Santaland are Christmas legends, which are directly related to childhood experiences and family folklore.

There are many names for Santa, such as Saint Nick, Kris Kringle and other references that are rooted in various cultures. Regardless of the title, he is a figure that usually instills a feeling of warmth and memories of past experiences both with family and friends.
