Creation puts on a great convention. The day was filled with some nice surprises and funny panels. The costume contest was a treat and a good majority of the costumes where well thought out and looked awesome. The vendors room while not packed with several vendors had a nice variety of merchandise being offered. Go Browncoats!

Get ready for a shiny convention Browncoats coming up next weekend!

In 2007 and 2008 Creation Entertainment welcomed fellow FIREFLY/SERENITY fans from around the world to join in a unique and wonderful celebration. With great guest stars, fun events, non-stop partying, new merchandising, interesting and entertaining panels, autographing and photo ops with the stars: the response was totally fantastic. 2008’s convention was sold out and in 2009 we’re aiming to put together an even bigger and better experience! It isn’t the same without YOU so make your plans to be with us for a time like no other!

November 17: We have been advised that Nathan Fillion will not be able to appear at the convention. Jewel Staite has today been booked to fill Nathan’s spot on the schedule. Please note that those who purchased separate autograph tickets and/or photo ops (including the duo photo op with Nathan) have these options:

1) You can use your Nathan autograph, photo op or duo photo ops for cash at the convention (as all tickets have been mailed or e-mailed at this time) for other tickets or merchandise at the Creation tables
2) You can save your tickets and then after the convention send them back to Creation Entertainment, 217 South Kenwood, Glendale, CA 91205 Attention: Ed for a refund We regret this inconvenience for our attendees and appreciate your continued support.

Sesame Street - Happy 40 Years! November 9, 2009

h1 Sunday, November 8th, 2009

Sesame Street begins it’s new season November 9 this Tuesday, 40 years to the day it premiered in 1969.

Tuesday’s episode will feature First lady Michelle Obama, Cameron Diaz and Lin-Manuel Miranda, the Tony Award-winning creator and performer from “In the Heights,” appear. Obama plants seeds with two girls, a boy, Elmo and Big Bird and she will talk about how delicious and healthful vegetables are.

Some things have changed on the show Oscar was originally orange (I don’t remember this), and Cookie Monster tried veggies but had to stayed true to his cookie addiction. In 1982 the death of Will Lee best known as Mr. Hooper was used to teach about this sensitive subject.

In the season opener, Lin-Manuel Miranda is a rapping real estate agent. He wants Big Bird to migrate, showing him beaches and forests. Big Bird naturally replies “Sesame Street is where I belong. This is my habitat.”

Thank you Sesame Street for the counting, numbers, skits, multicultural cast and the message of love and learning from The B Side.

A few classics:

NECROPOLIS opened this week!

h1 Sunday, November 8th, 2009

BY AuntiePanPan

I love starting my conversations, “no shit, there I was…”

It seems that Orange County has another two goth clubs arising from the ashes…NECROPOLIS and NEVERMORE!

and the city of the dead has been relocated to the corner of Birch and Fourth street at the Bistro 400 in Santa Ana on Wednesday nights.

NECROPOLIS, that is.

Well, I can tell you, when I got there at 10:30 PM, the place was packed to the gils!

Scantily clad girls, cheap booze, comfy atmosphere…ironically three stores down from where Xile used to be.

Weird, huh?

DJs Raven, Emperor James and Sonikk were all there in their musical glory…doing what they do best:

Putting on a kick ass show.

Yes, I will admit the venue is small, and intimate…maybe almost sardine like.

But it is great to see so many OC goths have a home to call their own now and NOT have always to go to the land of Holly…gas prices suck man!

While I am on the topic, This Thursday also CLUB NEVERMORE opens this November 12th! Ravenette Jello shots will only be two bucks and we should be seeing some Ravenette Dancers in the up and coming weeks as well.

I can’t wait to see that show!

NEVERMORE Is located at:

604 E. Dyer Rd. Santa Ana, CA 92705 and is 21 and over.

NECROPOLIS is I believe 18+…but check on Nevermore/Necropolis websites to make sure…

Hope to see you there!
