Doctor Who: Forest of the Dead

h1 Friday, June 27th, 2008

Posted by: Doctor Poo

As the shadows rise and march, the Doctor forges an alliance with the mysterious River Song. But can anyone stop the Vashta Nerada? Leave it to Steven Moffat to create a monster that lives in the dark and eats the flesh off your bones. Forest of the Dead is a satisfying conclusion to Silence in the Library. Moffat has laid the foundation for a possible companion for the Doctor in the future. Could he be planning for Series 5, when he takes over for Russell T. Davies? I just can’t wait to find out. David Tennant continues to prove that he was meant to play the Doctor. PLEASE DON’T REGENERATE THIS SEASON! PLEASE!!!! Enough is revealed about River Song to leave our dear Doctor speechless. Just what does she whisper into the Doctor’s ear? You’ll just have to tune in to find out. You may want to bring out the tissues at the end.

GET SMART

By Rick_A_Mortis

Synopsis: Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell) is on a mission to thwart the latest plot for world domination by the evil crime syndicate known as KAOS. When the headquarters of U.S. spy agency Control is attacked and the identities of its agents compromised, the Chief (Alan Arkin) has no choice but to promote his ever-eager analyst Maxwell Smart, who has always dreamt of working in the field alongside stalwart superstar Agent 23 (Dwayne Johnson). Smart is partnered instead with the lovely-but-lethal veteran Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway). Given little field experience and even less time, Smart-armed with nothing but a few spy-tech gadgets and his unbridled enthusiasm-must thwart the doomsday plans of KAOS head Siegfried (Terence Stamp). –© Warner Bros.

Ok I’m a fan of the GET SMART series, though I was just kinda blah about seeing another movie based on a TV show.

SPOILERS AHEAD YE BE WARNED!

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL ART SHOW - HOLLYWOOD CA

The gallery opening of  “LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL” saw about 2,000 people lined up on Sunset BLVD, up El Centro and back behind the old CBS/KNX Studios. I’m sure it had something to do with the article in LAWeekly that week and the offer of a free print to the first 200 people…it also didn’t hurt it was free.

Need a boost of energy? But would rather drink warm piss than let those fickle lips touch the smooth essence of liquid Arabica. Then try this: Snickers Charged… I’m not normally one to go around writing prose about candy bars; but this shit is “Cracktastical”! Read the rest of this entry

Tonight’s first parter takes us to a planet-sized library. But where did everyone go? Who is River Song and how does she know the Doctor? Writer Steven Moffat, who scared us to death with Blink last year, takes a stab at one of our all-time fears…the dark. If you want to live, count the shadows!
